IMPORTANT NOTICE: The contest deadline for 2016 and beyond has CHANGED from April 1 to March 1.
Entries should address the themes of science fiction/fantasy/horror/science.
1st prize: $100; 2nd prize: $75; 3rd prize: $50.
Limit: 3 poems/person, maximum 50 lines each. No entry fee.

Jack Chalker Memorial Young Writers’ Contest
Maryland Students: Ages 14-18
Cash Prizes: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50
The three winners shall also receive complimentary registrations for the Balticon Science Fiction Convention for themselves and their parents or one guest each and a free
Balticon T-Shirt.
The deadline is March 31st of any given year.
Submissions must be in the field of science fiction or fantasy.
